Two dozen members and friends of SF Maumee Valley enjoyed learning more about Ohio whites - two reislings, two pinot gris, and two chardonnays - and sampling the best of what can be created from the gardens, farms, and markets of Northwest Ohio at the height of the tomato season - Thanks to Mary and Steve Weiss for hosting and to Jim Sautter and Liz Soto for the taste education!

There was no shortage of ripe seasonal fruits at at the Toledo Farmers Market Saturday morning, and with a few herbs, some honey, and a blender, SFMV members Amelia Contreras, Tahree Lane, and Eric Britton created a series of refreshing drinks for those who stopped by to taste and to hear a little bit about Slow Food. Thanks to Amelia, who co-ordinates the project, our monthly market days have introduced Slow Food to dozens of market shoppers this year.
